PUBLISHING/EDITING

Ardele Lister founded the journal CRITERIA (with Willard Holmes) in 1975 in Vancouver. It was initiallly published under the auspices of the Vancouver Art Gallery, but by 1977 had dis-affiliated. Volumes 1-4 were published until Fall 1978, Volume 4, Number 2.

In 1978, while working on Short Film Showcase, an NEA sponsored program of Short Films for Theatrical release, Ardele Lister founded The Independent, published by the Foundation for Independent Video and Film, in New York. She edited the first ____ issues, when Bill Jones became Editor, until 198_.

The Independent is still published by the Foundation for Independent Video and Film, and available on newstands or by subscription.
